Childhood is sunny
days in a sandpit
building castles
with upturned buckets
tamped with a spade
But where is childhood if there is
no sand only concrete
no sun only darkness
Where is childhood when a castle
is a cellar
and you are the child
moulded into a rigid shape

That is horrifically sad. Too much pain.
